freil!ch

cinematographersocial media

For Lagfa Bayern and their volunteer platform freil!ch, I had the chance to shoot a short series as DoP, working with the Brain & Heart production team and director Martin Wazlawczyk. The project consists of four vignettes and one main film tying them all together, captured over four shoot days in Augsburg.

The campaign is about making volunteer work in Bavaria visible – not in the abstract, but close to the people who actually make freil!ch happen. Visually I went for a modern, dynamic signature: a lot of handheld work, movement, and a clean, contemporary look. We shot on the Sony Venice with DZO Vespid lenses, which gave us a consistently cinematic image quality despite a small crew and a lean budget.

The compact setup turned out to be an asset rather than a limitation – close to the people on screen, fast on location, and free of unnecessary gear. Exactly the energy freil!ch is meant to carry.
