Mini App
For Mini, I had the opportunity to shoot and grade five short vignettes for the new Mini App, together with Monacoframe and director Michael Baumberger. Each episode highlights a specific app feature — finding your parked car, planning a route, booking a service appointment — and contrasts it with the same situation back in the seventies. The idea: back then, everything was a headache. Today, you just open the app.
I translated that contrast directly into the visual language. The past sequences were shot on Canon FD lenses with static, unhurried framing and a strong film print emulation grade — grainy, warm, and a little worn. The present-day scenes, in contrast, were captured on Tokina Cinema ATX lenses, handheld and dynamic, with a clean and almost cool look. We filmed in Munich over two days in December, working with very limited daylight — tight windows that required precise planning and quick decisions on set.
